Today the inspiration runs the Eames House as a historic home museum and welcomes 20,000 visitors and design devotees annually. The Eames first began experimenting with creating plywood furniture of their small condo in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles in the early 1940s. They quickly established a bigger studio in Venice, LA, however their propensity for working in a house setting continued in 1949 once they designed their own residence and hooked up studio in the leafy Pacific Palisades neighborhood.
